IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR DRINKING WATER
March 14, 2021
UNION PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT has levels of Total Trihalomethanes Above Drinking Water Standards.
Our water system recently failed a drinking water standard. Although this is not an emergency, as our customers, you have a right to know what you should do, what happened, and what we are doing to correct this situation. We routinely monitor for the presence of drinking water contaminants. Testing results we received from our State certified laboratory on March 15, 2021 showed that our water system exceeded the standard, or maximum contaminant level (MCL), for total trihalomethanes (TTHM) at two distribution system sites. The MCL for TTHM is 80 ug/L. The running annual average for TTHM over the last 12 months at our testing site, Red Hill Road, was 83.2 ug/L and at our other testing site at Six Mile Road, the result was 84.6 ug/L.
